Training for the Future

Personal training is a great stepping stone to get you moving towards your health and fitness goals, but for most people it isn’t a permanent solution. When you finish a personal training program you should be equipped with a fitness plan; you should have acquired knowledge of how your body moves, what each exercise does, the motivation to carry on with long term training, and the accountability to pick yourself up when you need to keep moving and stay on track.

Building a sustainable fitness program means taking a holistic approach to your physical movement, and that starts with the knowledge of how and why we exercise, plus an initial session to address your personal lifestyle goals.

Movement

The first thing you learn at Adaptive Strength (formerly Box33) is how to move. Understanding how your body moves accomplishes two vital things:

  1. You understand how your body moves and what that means for your exercise program, including lifting, overall mobility and physical engagement.
  2. You’re aware and mindful of your day-to-day movement, regardless of where you are or what you’re doing.

Once you wrap up our Perth personal training program, no matter what your goals are, it’s important to keep moving with purpose. Combining daily movement with your exercise regimes creates a conscious approach to everything you do. Correct movement in the gym means avoiding injury, and continued movement outside the gym will see you move closer to your goals, one step at a time (literally).

Behaviour

Once we get you moving, your Adaptive Strength (formerly Box33) personal training program shifts its focus to behaviours. We ask our clients to look six months down the track and answer the question, “what is the one thing that would help me achieve my goals?”. It might be cutting out alcohol, reducing sugar intake, ditching the car and walking to work –  we don’t dictate which behaviour is addressed first, that’s for you to decide. But we will work with you to change those behaviours, one at a time, for the benefit of your physical health and mental wellbeing.

Science says trying to change more than one habit in a 21-day period is setting yourself up for failure, and that’s why we focus on one goal at a time, starting with getting you moving. Why? Because truly changing a habit, and sticking to that change, means long term success once your personal training program has come to an end.

Ongoing support

We take a lot of pride in the sustained success of our clients. Once Adaptive Strength (formerly Box33) have equipped you with the tools and knowledge to move confidently and address negative behaviour or habits, you’ll progress onto your own fitness plan but you won’t do it alone. We believe Box 33 offers the best fitness programs in Perth to keep you on track, but we’ll let you decide that for yourself!

We understand it can be hard to find the motivation to exercise or shake certain habits, but you can achieve both and we’re here to get you there. No matter what your fitness goals are, and the path you choose after completing your personal training program, the Adaptive Strength (formerly Box33) trainers are always here as a support network.
