When was the last time that you accomplished something huge?
When you are younger huge accomplishments seem much more frequent. In your teens, you get your first girlfriend or boyfriend. Late teens you buy your first car, get a job or go to Uni. In your 20’s you buy a house. In your late 20’s or 30’s have a few kids. And then it all seems to stop. The accomplishments stop rolling in.
Now you are in your 40’s and 50’s what is going to be your next huge accomplishment?
You have spent years raising kids, working to provide for the family. This may have been outside the home in a job or inside the house, making home life happy, comfortable and pleasant.
But one thing that is often forgotten is your own health.
Let’s Make Your Next Big Accomplishment Be Your Health!!!
In recent years there has been a TV series called “The Biggest Loser”. While I am not a fan of the extremes the contestant go to, to lose weight, I am inspired by their effort and resolve.
If you have ever seen the show you will have witnessed some dramatic transformations. People have been known to lose up to 50% of their body weight.
That is huge!
I’d call losing more than half of your body weight a huge accomplishment – wouldn’t you?
The crazy part is that some people think they are too old and too fat to achieve similar results. What is even crazier is most people don’t need such a dramatic transformation to have a profound impact on their life. Most people just need to be a little more active and lose about 10kg.
You can do this… Are you tired of doubting yourself?
Hard Work Pays Off
If they can do it, you can do it too.
If people over the age of 50 and 60 can transform their body from a size 22 to a size 8 then anyone really can do it.
Please spend a moment and think of that huge accomplishment that you haven’t made yet.
Maybe it’s a weight loss goal that you’ve had for years. Maybe it’s something completely unrelated to your weight.
What’s holding you back?
Are you afraid you’ll fail?
The fear of failure is a powerful thing. It can be crippling. No one likes to fail, and repeat failure is even worse.
But there is something worse than failing…
It is: Not Trying
You only truly fail if you do not try. If you give up before you even start.
So get up and try. And if you have tried in the past but not succeeded, try again!
The flip side to failure is success.
This lead to another question. Are you afraid you’ll succeed?
I know this may sound silly at first. But you might be surprised. Some people have a fear of success.
Success means change and change can be scary.
It is important that you embrace the idea of success. Because with the right coach supporting you and guiding you, your chances of success are greatly improved.
Stop the negative self-talk and get ready to succeed.
When you succeed, how will your life look? How will you feel? This is a huge accomplishment awaiting you.
Is life easier?
Do you move better?
Do you have less pain?
Do you feel more confident?
Do you simply just feel great?
Do you look great in your clothes?
Close your eyes and picture yourself accomplishing your goal.
Enjoy this feeling and use it to drive your motivation.
