Learn To
Handstand.
Step By Step.
Never done a handstand before? That’s completely fine. We’ll start with the fundamentals and work through the right progressions for your current level — from getting comfortable upside down through to wall-assisted and freestanding handstands.
Progressions for every level.
Build The Skill
Step By Step.
Handstands can feel confusing when you’re trying different drills without knowing what they are meant to fix. This workshop gives you a clear progression so you understand what to work on and why.
No Guesswork.
No Random Drills.
You’ll learn the key pieces that make a handstand work — from preparing your wrists and shoulders, to finding the right body position, entering safely and eventually learning how to control your balance upside down.
Warm Up & Preparation
Prepare your wrists, shoulders and body properly so you can spend time upside down comfortably and safely.
Shapes & Position
Understand the body positions behind a strong handstand and how different shapes affect balance and control.
Entries
Learn practical ways to get upside down with more confidence, consistency and control.
Window Of Balance
Learn where balance happens and how your hands, fingers and body position help keep you from falling.
Wall-Assisted Work
Use the wall as a tool to build alignment, strength and confidence — without becoming dependent on it.
Freestanding Balance
Progress towards freestanding work and learn the small corrections needed to stay upside down for longer.
Start Where You Are.
Build From There.
Learning a handstand doesn’t mean simply kicking up and hoping for the best. We’ll break the skill down and build it progressively — starting with position and support before gradually introducing more balance and independence.
Learn The Handstand Shape
Start by loading your hands and shoulders while learning how to stack your hips above you. The box gives you support while you practise the position without needing to balance yet.
Build The Full Position
Take the same shoulder and body position vertical. The wall provides support while you build confidence, strength and a more consistent handstand shape.
Learn To Find Your Balance
Gradually reduce your reliance on the wall and learn how pressure through your hands and fingers helps you make the small corrections needed to stay upside down.
Put The Pieces Together
Bring together your position, entry and balance to work towards a controlled freestanding handstand without relying on external support.
You don’t need to be at Step 01, 02 or 03 before attending. We’ll meet you where you are.
If simply being upside down is new for you, that’s fine too. We can use easier supported inversions and confidence drills before progressing into handstand-specific work.
There’s More
To Explore.
If you already have some handstand experience, the workshop can also explore more advanced skills. What you work on will depend on your current ability, strength and prerequisites.
