MORE THAN TENNIS PRACTICE

What happens off the court matters on it.

Tennis asks a lot of a growing athlete — accelerating, stopping, changing direction, rotating and repeatedly producing force through serves and groundstrokes.

Tennis coaching develops the game. Strength and conditioning helps develop the body that has to play it.

Acceleration and change of direction
Lower-body strength and control
Rotational strength and power
Shoulder and trunk resilience
The goal is to build a stronger, more capable athlete who is better prepared for the physical demands of tennis.
WHAT WE TRAIN

Building the physical qualities tennis demands.

Sessions follow a clear structure and focus on developing the movement, strength and athletic qualities that help junior players perform on court.

01

Movement & Speed

Acceleration, deceleration, balance and efficient change of direction for better court movement.

02

Strength

Develop stronger legs, trunk and upper body through well-coached, age-appropriate resistance training.

03

Power

Plyometrics, jumping and explosive movements help athletes learn to produce force quickly.

04

Resilience

Build capacity through the shoulders, trunk, hips and legs to better handle tennis training and competition.

05

Coordination

Improve body control, stability and movement quality through progressively more challenging exercises.

It isn't about making kids tired. It's about teaching them to move well, get stronger and progressively build their athletic capacity.

HOW THE CLASS WORKS

Structured group training. Proper coaching.

Everyone trains through the same structured session, but that doesn't mean every athlete needs to lift the same weight or progress at exactly the same pace.

The coach is on the floor throughout the session — teaching technique, adjusting loads, giving feedback and helping athletes progress appropriately.

01
Train together Athletes work through the same session plan and training focus as a group.
02
Adjust the load Exercises may be the same, while weights and difficulty are matched to the individual athlete.
03
Work in pairs Athletes may alternate between two exercises, keeping the session active and well organised.
04
Coach and progress Technique comes first, with progression added when the athlete is ready for it.
FOR EXAMPLE

One athlete might perform goblet squats while their partner works through deadbugs or mountain climbers. Then they swap.

WHO IS IT FOR?

For junior players who want to keep progressing.

The program is designed for developing tennis players aged 10–15 who want to improve the physical side of their game.

They don't need to be an elite player. They do need to be ready to learn, train and build good physical habits.

✓

Regular tennis players

Juniors already training consistently and wanting to improve their physical performance alongside their tennis.

✓

Developing competitors

Players beginning to compete more regularly or taking their tennis training more seriously.

✓

Growing athletes

Young players who need to develop strength, coordination and physical capacity as their bodies and training loads change.

✓

New to strength training

Juniors who would benefit from learning proper resistance-training technique in a coached and age-appropriate environment.

No previous gym experience is required. Exercises are taught progressively and the load can be adjusted to suit the athlete's current level.

FOR PARENTS

Build them up — don't just wear them out.

Good junior strength and conditioning should be coached, progressive and appropriate for the athlete standing in front of us.

We focus on teaching good movement and technique first. Weight, complexity and training difficulty are increased gradually as the athlete develops.

Age-appropriate strength training
Technique before heavier loads
Coaching and feedback throughout the session
Progressive training as confidence and ability improve
The aim isn't to see how hard we can push them. It's to help young athletes become stronger, more capable and more confident in how they move and train.
